well done catching fish. drove from tynemouth pier to tyne bridge stopping at all the usual spots and talking to anglers. plenty of small cod in river with occasional better one.

If anyone wants a few hours of no hassle fishing try the last 2-3 hours of the flood on the river blyth. Just park up and fish from your car. Had loads of whiting and flatties over the last week on mackeral strips ( approx 2 inches long and very thin picks out the better flatties ) many over 1lb. Alot of anglers I have spoke to have struggled on worm but as long as its tipped off i have had no problems. It is always at night when i've fished so would be interesting to know if it has been the same during the day. Also I have only caught in patches after high tide.
