  • New to the area

Hi all, I am new to the area (South Shields) as of Oct just gone. Did most of my blanking round the Fylde Coast and Wales.
Can anyone give me some advice on the best places to fish, local tackle shop, where to get bait etc etc.

    Cheers.

[QUOTE=wardy44;340474]Hi all, I am new to the area (South Shields) as of Oct just gone. Did most of my blanking round the Fyled Coat and Wales.
Can anyone give me some advice on the best places to fish, local tackle shop, where to get bait etc etc.

3 tackle shops in shields taylors on the river River drive Wapping street, Reelsport dean road and A-line baits horsley square

genrally pier the hot spot, but last few month river been throwing some nice fish most probably on crab baits , others on worm, maki, bluey and other baits. marks to fish in river are hebburn marina, police heli pad, jarrow park, walkway, brigham s, mill dam also there is a pretty good coastline up to sundereland to fish ( but advise to learn about it first before fishing as they can be dangerous,

also there is the S/S club you could join and and learn the marks from the lads mos twould be only to willing to help you if interedted there is a meeting at the =New Crown pub at the sea front on wednesdayt 7.30 pm and if you like,, possibly join if suits you,, there u go hope that whets your appetite to fish even more

Welcome to NESA mate, if you walk along the Tyne from the customs house (and including the customs house) you will see for yourself a good few spots to fish along there. Tight lines mate.

South shields is a good base for a shore angler mate! you have the pier and the tyne on your doorstep, plus all the rough ground around marsden / whitburn. 20 mins drive to newbiggin to the north, 20 mins to seaham colliery beaches to the south! Sometimes my biggest problem is deciding on a mark. Stay safe mate!
            Stay safe!
            Enjoy your fishing!
            Take your rubbish home!

Cheers budgie/outkast, i'm in simonside. Call me daft, but prefer smooth ground in the winter months and rocky/smooth in the summer, probably due to fishing the West Coast for years.
