Thanks for replies lads I might swing towards the SKS I like the colour of it, (strange I know lol) reading up on it always comes up as rung for multi and fixed spool. I would be wanting it for my multi, can a rod be rung for both IE I thought the biggest ring for a FS rod was to allow line so how would the SKS be.

There's someone testing one on YouTube if you type in sonik sks and he's using a multi.

After Mark smashed the rings on his rod a few weeks ago I looked around for a spare rod. I looked at some of the cheaper ones and a couple of them had some good reviews but also quite a few negatives. The SKS looks value for money for cheap and cheerful and there were some good comments about the RT Axellerator.
But... I did what I usually do and went for another Century. I got the Tip Tornado UL as I was looking for a rod with better bite detection than the one I've got but still with a bit of power for casting.
I gave it a run out yesterday but didn't get much of a chance to check out the bite detection much as I only had one small flounder.
                          Hoping for better luck tomorrow.

Yer the biggest ring allows the line to run off and not get caught up as the line comes off in loops with a fixed spool and with a multi it runs straight of the spool so a large ring isnt needed.
As far as am aware when a rod is rung for a multi the spine is one way and when it's rung for a fixed spool the spines the opposite way round.
I think it's something to do with which way the spine bends.

I could be slightly wrong but it's something like that.
                            Hope this helps
