mates catch lastnite ?

a pal of mine went fishing last night and sent me a picture of his catch.
anyone clear up what fish it is?(we are novice to the sport)

Looks like a Rays Bream to me mate. An unusual catch on rod & line.
Where was he fishing???

Looks fresh out the water very shiny still..

Ive seen pics of 4-5 of these caught this year.. Been one or 2 off horden and a 5lber which if i remember right was off lynmouth

their is a few getting washed up now and then beaching them selves their was a fair few last winter

If we had these forums back in the 70,s and 80,s there would be a hundred reports a week about these.......

You won't have seen any weighed in in any comps because there banned lol due to the fact they beach themselves, people have said even if ya find 1 still flapping about and ya return it to the water it will only beach it's self again.
Supposed to taste quite nice tho.

Your right there. I'm amazed at the remarks made when an angler report's he's hooked a rays bream. Just because thay havn't. No matter how long they or anybody else have bean fishing say it cant be done!
