Be careful mate, my sl30's fixing bracket is to small for my century reelseat so I would have to change the seat or take it off and either use coasters or the clamp supplied with the reel. I always used the clamp supplied on other rods anyway as in my opinion it's an excellent fixing and doesn't get in the way. Be careful again as it's just 2 small screws that secure it and if you overtighten you can crack the clamp, I did once.

There's nowt wrong with the drag on it mate. A had that reel on me rod when a got me 4lb 5oz codling, and it handled it with absolutely no problems what soever. Also the ratio is upgraded on these reels, from 5.1:1 to 5.8:1, which was also a great help. And to top it all off, its one hell of a casting reel, cast of the end of pier with it with wins behind ya and it goes for miles. Very easy reel to control for casting too.

On comparison I rate my 7HT Mag as highly as my Penn 515 mag2, which is my most favourite reel, so its really highly rated by me.
