  • hand built rod

    been thinking lately about building a rod for myself from scratch. any info on where to buy a blank and guides etc? techniques, books on it, just a thought.

    you could buy second hand or new blanks from most of the tackle shops i would think or off the net plenty of info on rod buiding just type it in on the web which will also bring other links up were you can get rings, glues,threads etc go on stan masseys thread on w.s.f site some good info on thier with pics

      go to a second hand shop buy a cheap battered rod and see what you can do have a practice and see the difference then start on a new one once you have perfected the art
      Did one years ago hardy glass spinning rod bought the blank and everything else at temples before the internet jeff

            nice one cheers lads. do the rings have to be set out at specific places or is it just a matter of choice? thats a good idea to practice on an old one. got a very cheepy beachcaster i think ill practice on. i like the sound of a spinning rod , thays a good idea.
