  • Best Tide for Copthorne?

Taking a friends 8 year old son fishing for the first time at the weekend. What's the best tide for the Copthorne?

A small tide in the middle of summer is a good time for the copthorne mate.

Thanks, thought the Copthorne would be a nice safe spot for the lad. Is it best 2 hours and 2 down or just 2 hours up to HT? Not after specimen fish, just something to get him interested.

I've had fish there through all tides with high tide being most productive, there have been pleanty whiting and flatties about. Use two hook flapper rigs with size 1 hooks with a little bit worm and 1cm cubes of mackerel to tip off.

The flood on a small tide is the best for the Copthorne.
On bigger tides, upstream towards the Business park and British airways car park is better.
Fish the jetties here so your not retreiving over yards of sleck,3 up 3 down.

Brilliant lads, thanks for all the words of wisdom. Even catching a fish finger will hook 'em for life.
