  • Squid Head

My first post for quite a while - so be gentle with me! This may have been asked before - but when using squid either as a tipper or in a cocktail - has anyone ever had any success using the head in any way?
So long and thanks for all the fish! (www.lsbsac.co.uk)

For me it dont matter what part ya use mate. Squids squid but the head tends to stay on better. I only ever use it as a cocktail bait normally with frozen blacks or rag. Dont normally mix it with crab or yellows but thats my personal preference mate. At the end of the day every bait has its day in my opinion
Nothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

I agree, stops on for ages and the tenticles give some movement.

strips work just as good as some of the other methods mentioned. I normally cut pieces around 3" long and start by putting a worm on, then a piece of squid but only put it on the hook a couple times, leave a bit hanging. then keep repeating worm & squid till you get a bait suitable size to the target species!

i've done well using squid head to tip baits off with in the winter. and you can use it as strips to tip bait off for whiting etc.

i think its an under rated bait.
