Still doesnt make it legal Jimmy. Thats my point, if the advice given is incorrect it does not the invalidate the law/rules no matter who says its ok. The lad has a right to be annoyed due to the advice he was given but that advice does not bring about a change to the rules.

By the way I wouldnt ask a chief supt about the law they know naff all. Paperclip orders and the way to the pop machine maybe.

..... and I was about to say then youd get done by the polis but I see I was a bit late ;-)

i do get ya point mate and i have said from the start he was wrong to be on before 8am, but going by the rules, he was not the only one should have been disqualified,

A didnt ask a chief super, was about 100 yds from an amber and just put me foot down, was late for me fishing hahahahaha

          • I'll give you a different example.

My mate and I run an open match. I print off last years brochure and sell tickets.

During the week I decide to make an amendment to the rules that white worm is banned. 40 people turn up and I forget to tell most of them. 30 go away non the wiser. They've got the brochure after all.

Lad fishing next to my mate is using whites. He tells him it's ok carry on fishing with them 'I'm the organiser'. He then proceeds in catching the heaviest fish.

He comes back to the weigh in and wins. We both decide to disqualify him.

            How is that fair?

He was the only one that was identiified (as far as I am aware) and admitted it yes. The others, if idenitified should have been disq as well without a doubt. It is however a pointless argument as they werent identified.

You better hope the magistrate is an angler Jimmy!!

I realise your scenario is the same however to quote the Prime Minister "I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I have previously given". I'm not saying the whole thing is fair, because I have huge sympathy for the lad given the circumstances. I am simply saying giving everything I have read and I have read it all, the correct decision was made.
