Its a funny place lynemouth like. Blank when ya think itll fish but sometimes throws out a cracker when ya least expect it. A nice sea runnin and at night is best tho for sure. You'll need a canny chuck to get past the breakers in a big see like
Nothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

Unlucky on the bad fishing mate, obviously just one of those where the fish are not in feeding mode.

I'd love to fish Lynmouth beach sometime. I've never fished there before but heard so much about the quality of the fishing when the conditions are perfect there. Unfortunately for me I ain't got no transport to get there, so am buggered. Methinks al stick to good old Shields Pier, my favourite shot of all .

Yeah in a cleadon match a wouldnt have much time once a got to the end 3 hours max. Mind you its a shorter walk than getting to lynmouth, as a would have to get the ferry and walk!

Biggest advice on catching fish is go when the conditions are right.

Don't pick a day (I.e. Sunday) and turn up on Lynemouth beach with no sea on, Daylight and a Bum tide expecting to catch fish.

If the seas away tuesday, go out tuesday and give it your best shot.

Personally, I think Lynemouths overated, even though the catch reports on here are predominately from memebers on here.

                      lynemouth

a very good beach to get a better size cod from in the right condition,
but as been said go at the right time.
not always long casts needed but can be the reason for the better catch if you can.

fish the right marks on this beach....some better down and over low water marks, other marks need a good push on a big flood tide.

This beach has shallowed up a lot now so a bright sunny day in gin clear daylight condition will let you go home and eat egg n chips for supper.

Weed is now a problem when we have a nice sea running,in the past you could handle this due to the steepness of the beach, not so easy now but can
                      still be done...exspect tackle loss.

One of the best marks has now been lost due to sea defences near the boil
...one of the best low water shots..long casts would get you fish even in bright daylight conditions, flat sea,and neep tides.this is hard ground at range.
this mark would also fish well on the flood but it's a nono now due to sea defence.

move to crosswaters big spring tide do best here, try and drop yr bait just north of the rock at distance miss this and you be in hard fast ground to thr south, rottern bottoms will get yr fish back on a pully rig.

Lots more good marks on this beach moving north of the burn towards boghall.

This advice is not from reading about Lynemouth its from fishing it.
