  • The smallest fish you\'ve caught?

With much nagging from wife regarding how much freezer space was taken up with squid and black lug I decided to free some space by taking the frozen squid sausages (stuffed with mussels) and try out some new line (Aqua Zuba by Zo-Zuri - 1/2 price at the moment from Harris Angling). Went to Sandsend beach - conditions all wrong - but two other lads fishing with worm provided pleasant company. At the turn of the tide the other lads decided to call it a day and passed across their remaining worms. I decided to fish until an hour after high water. I was now pushing the squid sausage up the snood and threading 2 worms on the hook a 6/0. Result a 9\" bait presentation producing a 3\" flounder!!!

4 inch codling. Too many whiting trying to take bait three times their body size.

caught little 1/2\" gobies at Druridge bay, though that was in the kids net to be fair

Had plenty of postage stamp flatties over the years though, how they manage to get on the hook is beyond me at times... little 3-4\" coalies, whiting and codling too....

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.
