They generally pay for a good aticle.
Then they can print something other than "Bass Stories"
As you have said, You could write better stuff.
Can you?As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

Its not if I want you to.
Everyone complains about Sea Angler, Total Sea Fishing and Boat Fishing Monthly, publishing articles about Bass or about fishing in the South of England.
The reason this happens is that nobody up here will submit any articles about the fishing in this area.
The editors of these magazines live down there, so they fish down there.
So if you want people to know about fishing up here, start writing about it and send it off to Mel Russ, Barney Wright or Dave Barham and maybe they will start to publish a regular North East section.
Get writting and good luck.As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,

By all means, you have your views on the mag and thats great...you can't please everyone as they say...but before being quick to jump on a runaway band wagon...just take a moment to make sure your facts are completely true...no features based in the North East isn't totally fact now, is it...?

Sea Angler
Can you tell me which of the posts in this thread say there's nowt about fishing in the north east please?
I think the general consensus was, to much about bass and boat, to many repeat adds and only a few pages of any real interest about actual shore fishing therefore not good value for money.
Personally I think there should be alot less on bass and boat and alot more on actual shore catch reports and features. Just my opinion like mate but it is an opinion that's made me stop buying both sea angler and TSF.

A couple of quotes from the said post: 'about fishing in the South of England', 'nobody up here will submit any articles about the fishing in this area.' 'maybe they will start to publish a regular North East section.'
My gripe isn't really with the mags NE content, or lack of it, indeed i would like to read features and reports from all over the country, its about the amount of info on bass and boat and the repeat adds, these take up the vast majority of the mags. Having said that I'm a bit peeved I didn't see the 4 page article about shields pier you quoted in last months edition. I'll have to try and get me mitts on a one I know the mags got to have adds to survive but when they start taking up a huge chunk of it and are repetitive it just puts regular buyers off.Last edited by g.ordon; 21-10-2011, 04:03 PM.
