  • and we wonder why cod stocks are in danger

it makes u think doesnt it that the pictures attached is 1 boat out of hundreds and thousands fishing the seas for cod and other fish, can the cod stand this amount of fish been caught in 1 haul, personally i think myself that if boats continue in this vain the cod will be gone in not so distant future.

Sickening ta see from a shore anglers point of view m8. But unfortunatley thats the way it is. So next time ya go the chippy for fish n chips think of this lads. Even more sickening is the amount of fish that would be chucked back dead in this haul.
Nothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

Wow that's one big haul of cod makes you would wonder if there be any cod left in the north sea if that's just one trawler but there's many more catching the same amount, but you carnt blame the lads on board they have to make a living and put food on the table . But we have to maybe start to think about the stocks of cod we are taking from the sea, maybe farming cod like they farm haliubut in the scotish lochs.

that haul is a drop in the ocean but multiply it by a 100 every day and thay will end cod fishing in the north sea then thers all the illigeal fishing on top. the cod has no chance. a policy run by pen pushing morons who no nothing about fishing

Thing is with farming fish is that it takes around 4lb of feed to gain 1lb of fish.....and where does that feed come from?....yup more fish!

Any idea where this boat is based and if it's UK waters?

And next time you consider voting, think about where your governments loyalties lie on Europe and you may see why there is such a problem with our fisheries!

BBC News - Spain's fishy practices cast shadow on seas

Read the Greenpeace report on the subsidies to one family also....good to see your taxes so well spent eh?

its sad to see but, i own my own business and if it doesnt run to its full potential then its not worth it. people still have to make a living . if they didnt do it they would be left redundant and more people on the dole. its probably all the know. thats a lot of fish though
