if someone is wasting emergency services time,ie RNLI,Coastguard, police,Ambulance service,Royal Air Force surely that is wasting money or am I missing the point here.I\'ve never seen the mark so I have to take your word for it and my comment was a general comment based on your discription, probably get loads of d#ckheads trying to fish there tonight though

I cannot see how rescueing someone, be it they have made a mistake or are just plain stupid, a waste of anybody cash, like I said never heard of a rescue taking place from there in 16 years.
Treat any mark with the respect it deserves and you should not need the rescue services.
Its when divvies chance their arm that they come a cropper.
The whole point of the picture is to warn people away from marks such as that, not to influence them to go and try it.
The angling press have been reviewing that mark for years, and every year more and more anglers try it without coming to any harm.
If people find the picture a bit disturbing then I appologies, just trying to show one of my favourite fishing spots.
Its annoying when people condemn something, somewhere, someone they know sod all about!

A lot of the marks around Eyemouth are similar to the one posted. Highlighting them does not, in my opinion, attract others to fish them. It makes them aware of the demands of the mark and then it is up to the individual to decide whether such a mark is within their capability. The real problem, again in my opinion, is that we have removed risk taking away from our daily routine (via our wonderfully all encompassing risk assessments, so people are no longer aware of what their capabilities are, especially the youth of today.

Just recieved your pm Graham, Respect goes out to a proper shore angler.
You went the way I go now mate(round the bottom), far to old to get up and down there more than once a month (takes my legs that long to recover).
Still do it when i cannot be @ssed to walk round tho

The only benefit from climbing down is that you can fish the tide nearly all the way through its cycle, (more fishing time) but if you hit it right you can bag up in a couple of hours.
This year there have been over 10 doubles pulled out of boiler hole, the biggest was caught by JUSTIN LIDDLE just before x-mas

                          just over 18lb

It always seems that the persnon who has the accidents when angling have been fishing for many years and know the area well. Could this be through complacency, it only takes a vital second to loose concentration, a bird squealing a kid shouting when playing or just letting your mind drift as you think of the lunkers you are risking your neck for. \"Thats all i have to say on that\" Quoting Forest Gump

tala its not somewhere i would fish but how a picture of a well highlighted fishing mark can be deemed offensive is beyond me if people want to fish there its up to them your picture showed the way down so its up to the individual wether to fish it or not taking the picture down is censorship gone mad id love to no who it offended or if the moderator just didnt like the look of the mark and decided nobody else should fish it.
