winter fishing rigs???

  • winter fishing rigs???

    after a bit of advice, this year will be my first winter fishing sessions....just wondering what sort of rigs i should be making up, hooks/swivel sizes/line breaking strain etc...any help would be appreciated..

    dont know if it matters but normally fish around roker area...

    Just simple pulley rigs is all i use 80lb rig body 60lb hook length 3/0. Manta on top 5/0 manta buisness end and i allways use rotten bottoms even over sandy beaches

          with the lads 100% here, clipped down pulley or pennel pulley, rotten bottom inc, let that lunker hook itself

              depending on where you were fishing,i would make my rigs as basic as poss,i use 60lb trace and 30lb amnesia hook length with 545 manta extra 4/0 hook,i use either sufix tritanium or nite crystal mainline,30lb,if i fish rough ground,then il start with pulleys and rotton bottoms

                  i think its always best to fish with 2 rods mate and try one with a pulley rig on and one with a 2 hook flapper with 1/0 kammasans on for the whiting plenty around at the minute
                  species so far :cod,whiting,coalie,dab,flounder ,plaice,3bearded rockling,mackeral,granny fish best for 2012 :6lbcod

                    would agree with pop39 when fishing two rods. tend to have a clipped rig either pulley/bomber/long n lo and a flapper plopped closer ...the flapper normally saves blanking...
