    im after a new reel i was considering an original penn 525 mag or a akios want something can cast smoothly but has a bit of cranking power any suggestions ? i am quite interested in a daiwa slosh 20 shv what do these compare like to a penn 525 in performance casting wise and fishing.

      yes mate but a bit over gunned for my fishing venues i think mostly fish mixed ground so a slosh 30 may be a bit to much.

        Hi mate, I have a Penn 525 mag and it's absolutely brill, smooth casts and plenty of distance never had any problems with it, all in all a great reel, hope this helps
        A bad days fishing beats a good day working

          Go for the Penn 525mag best all rounder great caster good cranking power plus easy to use with the mags.

            i think i will ill see if i can pick up a 525 supermag used in mint condition , ill have a shuffty on ebay see whats about.

                    I use a slosh 20 and 30 and i personally cant fault them in anyway but im tempted to try a 525mag just to compare them,so if i can find myself a cheap one to try out then i think i might go for it!
                    The only fish i want this year is a double figured cod!!!

                        You won't be dissapointed. I have a 525 and a slosh20 - Both great reels, just different. In my opinion the 525 is smoother but the 20 feels stronger
