    Two of my mates were fishing infront of the grotto last night and one said he caught a flatty. it was a fair size so he took it home for his grandad (ex fish monger) who said it was a 3 pound turbot nd it was v rare round these parts?
    Is this the crack coz hes getting quite big headed about as ive blanked the last twice, he had a doggy at craster on friday too.

    sounds like a decent fish at that size wudnt know what it was unless theres a picture

      was speakin to a lad down cambois on friday and he said that he had a turbot but it was only palm size.
      Nothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

        My mate had 1 almost exactly a year ago and it was about 4-5lb
        It wa taken on frozen crab from lynemouth beach

          There have always been Turbot from the beaches. Usually they are very small but sometimes there are larger. Warkworth can chuck out decent ones now and again and Marsden probably too. It's not always about Global Warming

            As a young child at Boulmer 30 years ago, me and my mates caught and lost a Turbot that was the size of a bin lid. Straight down from the pub. We saw it as we were playing in the water and placed an oar on it to stop it swimming off. Unfortunately as we tried to lift it, it was too heavy, shook itself free of our grasp and swam off.
