  • fixed spool reels

hi I have just started to sea fish again could anybody give me some advice on a good fixed spool reel for general fishing beach/ pier and over rocks any info would be appreciated cheers

Plenty on here can tell you better than me but for rough ground the penn spinfisher lc seems to be the best at the minute built like a tank.
I am more of a multi man my self but I have a shimano ultegra which i am a big fan of they seem to have come down in price recently they will handle most situations.

personaly, ive got 2 x surfblasters 8000.never had any problems with them, thats why i bought my 2nd 1.BUT,i only use mine on shots over l/w marks,as a rule.cant fault them. as above says, really its about where you mostly fish.

I've got the Affinity and the Surfblaster 8000 and can't realy say there is much difference. The Affinity does not have an automatic bail arm if you start reeling in. This prevents accidental bail arm closures during casting!
A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

All depends on your budget and areas most fished , myself I love the ultegra for general fishing but use a okuma Rex trio salt for the rough stuff , each to there own , I'm a Abu man with multi,s but loads are Penn , if ya local and want to try a few down Jarrow park ya welcome mate .. I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
              And we will fish together

I use a Spinfisher in the rough ground but I also have a shimano technium mgs which I use in the pier etc or beach. You could use the spinfisher on all ground though and they are also built to last mate. You could have a chuck with mine if you wanted but I'm away next weekend and work until late some nights a week

I would advise to have a look at one in shop first and possibly put onto a rod as I know that some people think they are too heavy and can't get away with them
