its just the 30 holds more line which is sometimes needed when using 30-35lb line

Think the only difference is slosh 20 doesn't hold as much line as the slosh 30.
would say the slosh 20 was more of a mixed ground reel i.e 20lb-25lb line where as the sl30 is more of a rough ground reel i.e 30lb plus mainline.
However the sl20 still holds enough 30lb line to fish most of the rough ground marks round here where you dont need a huge chuck.

If I had the choice and did mainly rough ground fishing it would have to be the 30 just incase you loose a bit of line you have still got enough to carry on fishing with that reel, but if you were using the sl20 and you lose a bit of line you may struggle to carry on fishing with that reel.

Dont think there is any other differences just line capacity.

      Sl30sh for rough
      Sl20sh for mixed

Both are awesome reels, i have a slosh 30 as my backup. There is some problem with the pins in the handle snapping, but i think thats all to do with fishing syle, using the reel more than the rod may be the reason this was happening to people. But everyone is different

if you are going to buy one of the reels have a look at the saltist 20 or 30 have never had much bother with other than the star drag going but that was replaced the next day but other than that it is probably the best reel i have used

I find the 20s alot nicer to cast because the narrower lighter spool, aswell as being easyer to grip. I rarly use more than 20lb line on mine but as said it will handle the rough stuff with 30lb+line aslong as your just flicking baits out, but a better option would be to buy a 20 and 30 second hand for the same price as one new one.

slosh20 a decent enough casting reel for distance the slosh30 ideal for bullying fish out and holding enough strong line

Always seem to get good reviews but i absolutely hated my Slosh20 and ended up giving it away. I find the height of the spool just felt wrong and I would use a penn 525 anyday.

my opinion is the sl30sh beats the saltist hands down on rough ground, if ya gonna fish rough ground where you also need a decent chuck its the 30 all day long, it all depends on what you used to regarding casting distance, the 30 is bigger than the 20 but if you get used to it casting a distance should pose no probs

I always use the 30 for winter fishing, holds plenty of 30lb line and fish it straight through.
