Going to berwick for a few days in october with our lass for a little get away. Little ploy I came up with to try a few new marks, getting bored with sunderland shields and horden!
Ant never fished Berwick but been for day trips with the family. Pier looks good. The river spills out besides it and it comes to a bottle neck. This is a hotspot for poachers with nets for Salmon and Sea trout. Defra lads visit regular.
Mick.
if u r on the main caravan park at berwick m8 just go down the cliff steps in2 the bay, a big sand pool infront of u surounded by rock ledges its a big flattie bay 2 lug or crab baits.
or 4 better fishing hit the rockledges 2 the right of the bay with fresh or frozen crab, good wrasse & red codling from 3-7lb just dropped short between 20-40 yrds.
or head along the cliff tops north through golf coarse & after about a 15-20minute walk u will come 2 a putt rite on the cliff edge with a big gully cut out the cliff behind the hole, a ledge sticks out here & below the water is a underwater channel runs out 2 sea from around 50yrds out, had some cracking fish from this mark over the years as we would stay at this park every year. its been a good 10 years the last time i fished these marks but i told a m8 of mine that was up at the park last year where 2 try & he rang me 4 days in a row teling me he had had cod to 6lb & wrasse to 4lb.
good luck m8
