  • okuma mag 20 review

after reading al lot about the mag 20 on other sites decided to buy one today
when i opened the box i thought theyd put a penn 525 in by mistake there so similar, probably made in the same factory
fifirst inpection showed a solid well put together reel about the size of an sl20.
doesnt have a massive spool capacity but so what its a fishing reel not a tournemant reel.
got it home and loaded it with 15lb line and a shock leader, and headed straight down to the beach,
tried a few casts on 2 clicks of the mag big mistake this reel runs very fast, so knocked it onto number 6, casting off the ground(high inertia) the reel performed perfectly , so smooth and a mega fast retrieve, all in all i cant fault this reel , comparing it against my sl20 i seem to prefer the okuma
north east tackle supplies is selling them special offer £50 which to me is a real bargain

              nice reel

looks a nice reel but when iv cast them with mags full off it still seems some thing is holding it back my 525 mag easy outcast it i could have put rocket fuel in the bearings might have made it run faster but nice looking reel

tried these reels myself and found them very good ,great value for money fast retrieve like most people seem to like and they will cast a very long way highly recommended as far as i am concerned.looked after and they will last, dont and they wont.

has the prom keeper tried them yet, looks like the prom on ur pic.
