  • Fishing around Seaham area

I'm planning on giving this area ago over the next couple of months. I fished blast beach twice last year, and thought it was awe-inspiring...especially at night, with pounding waves echoing from the cliffs behind. Anyway, i was on my way back from Newcastle to Middlesbrough earlier and took a cheeky detour to check out chemical beach and noses point. They all look brilliant.

Can anyone give me a few hints on fishing the area - i.e. tide / wind direction / baits. There seems to be a fair depth relatively close in, so it may be that it produces on all states of tide, but your advice would be spot on. I noticed fishing blast beach that snags were a bit of an issue in places, but a quick move 20 yards or so until i found cleaner ground helped.

Was thinking of trying this weekend.

    Cheers in advance

    James

the chems beach is a tackle grave yard ,best during or just after rough conditions , still the chance of cod or coalies but expect to lose gear .

Fished the Blast last weekend for first time , no snags and produced plenty of whities as soon as darkness came, all sizable fish for around an hour.
All took on rag tipped with macky after high tide.
