Opening hours have went tits up in my opinion!
Alot of people are at work through the day and pick up bait etc after work (4pm - 5.30pm) for an evening session. But shutting at 4pm doesn't give you time

            moonfleet

my own opinion is that the premises are far too big and it must cost a fortune to rent.
times I have been there I have never seen a lot of customers in the shop for some reason.
I would think the opening hours now would put the shop in jeopardy of closing down.
you can not run a business on part time hours that are no good for customers.
at the end of the day no customers no income end of business.

they should have just gone for one shop at south shields area the one in gateshead is too big and the one in byker parking there can be a problem traffic wardens.
always found the staff at the gateshead shop to be spot on and selling excellent bait.
the last few times I have rang its always on the answer phone
shops can not survive on just selling bait and high overheads.
possible jimmy may respond as a lot of anglers are concerned about moon fleet shop in gateshead

Don't bother with moonfleet any more was let down twice when ordering bait 2nd time turned up at shop at byker lad said sorry no worms have turned up m8 so asked could you ring your Gateshead shop to ask if they had any the lad said both shops have had no deliveries of worm . Anyway though I would ring them myself and the lad at Gateshead said yes we have plenty worms m8 so drove over to Gateshead and spoke to the lad about what happened at byker and he just seemed puzzled by it so don't bother now which is a bit of a shame because I though they were a canny tackle shop

if you can catch them open they've got some belter blacks in at the moment at Gateshead.

Just for the record people, the software we use at the shops shows us the sales per hour and what is sold, as it happens it shows us that only 4% of sales are made before 12 o clock between December and may and less than 6% after 4 pm
therefore a a business man who makes a living from saving companies money I am practising what I preach, dont worry about the size of the shops or their locations, we have plans and the hours will be extended soon along with our shops
always happy to see the doubters doubting though

You seem to be giving out a mixed message, on the one hand you're saying that only 10% of your sales are generated before 12 noon and after 4 pm (December through to May) which I assume is the reason for reduced opening hours.
You go on to say you will be expanding the business and extending the opening hours which is a tad confusing unless you have a strategy to the address the trend during December through to May.
The winter trade will cater for mostly shore fishermen so I guess the bait trade will be commensurate with weather conditions.
The bait trade is actually providing a service to the shore lads but it's a "feast or famine" situation based upon the vagaries of our weather and you could run at a loss if the conditions are not right.

Well i know i would like your software to predict this months and may turnover as you seem to know what your foothold is going to be before it happens . Or are you using last years figures and in the fishing game that cant be good as the weather changes year to year month to month
