  • 19/8/2011 Barnacle Bill SS

I headed down to SS pier at 4.AM this morning when I got to the end there were three fishing the end two young lads who were pulling in maccy like there was no tomorrow, they ended up with sixty odd of them and I ended up with three because i slept in and missed the feeding frenzy, not to worry though if I get out on the boat on Sunday I am sure that I will do better.
Anyhow I had a good bit crack with a nice man off this site Barnacle Bill ad his mate Joe who turned up later, Bill got a good knock on his rod bun ended up snagged up so he tried pulling out and low and behold he got out of the snag with the fish still on it was a very nice 3lb 13 oz Cod, he was using fresh peeler and a pulley rig.
Oh and he also got a small Gurnard but no photo for that one as I was on the other side of the Pier for that one.
I don't know if Bill or Joe caught anymore after I left.
Well here is the proof that you all like to see
