Fished both lures and bait last night. Managed a couple of bass, codling coalies, flounders and dabs. About an hour into the flood I had a really good rattle, I picked up the rod and it went again so I struck into what felt like a better fish. After a tussle I managed to get the fish about 10yds out only for it to stay deep amongst the kelp in front. I bullied the fish trying to turn its head when my line went slack. Bugger I thought (or something like that) as I wound my trace back in. Upon inspection of my hooks and bait I was gobsmacked to find this on my hook

Any idea what it was on a 3/0 hook??

Had these two off the surface at dusk.
