I heard it was caught of the wooden jetty at Jarrow, there is no wooden jetty at jarrow park, there is one at the entrance to the Don though, it is a good shot for codling but it is illegal to fish there

                        From tonights Evening Chronicle:

Wallsend angler Carl Bibby fished Jarrow Quayside in the River Tyne and used ragworm to take a cod of 9 1/2lb.

Andy Rutherford also had a cod of 7lb 11 1/2oz from Marsden using frozen crab.

                              Jonny, quayside, pronounced key-side

Quayside [noun] meaning: The area adjacent to a quay or wharf or a system of quays, especially in a port city.

Quay [noun] meaning: Wharf usually built parallel to the shoreline.

There are wharves at Rohm & Haas, the Shell terminal and Jarrow Slake (though you can\'t access them to fish) making the shoreline a quay and Jarrow a port.

If in doubt, ask Jeeves (or Stores lol)
