I'll go along with the White House Sands too Graham, as well as the Block House at Hadston during a good easterly blow.

well its been hard but i think mine is the Gunpits at Whitburn, geet huge as owt northerly and geet huge tide. Never caught owt big but the place just has a feeling that its going to produce summick. I fished it not last winter but the one before and went down at 4am in minus stupid conditions and a wind blasting across the fields behind, got a codling of 2.5 lb and it felt brilliant!

                gunpits

totally agree mate place does give you the feeling it will produce, fished it a fair bit over last two winters but never had much to shout about biggest was about 3lb mark. Cant see myself fishing it this year as it also started giving me the feeling its ready to give way at anytime as with most of the high water marks along there.

Sunderland south pier. I'm not exaggerating when I say it is possibly the best cod mark on the north east coast.

Just a shame its shut to anglers....

                            totally agree mate,

Had some great sessions on that pier,

3rd arch was my favorite mark.

When there's a nice sea running it's Whitley Beach for me - North & South Wilkies, North Skeer or Skitters depending on conditions & the Pipe & Pipe skeers when it's flat.
