Whitley Bay would probably be my first choice for a local beach, might still be a little early but as they say nothing ventured......

Failing that, either end of Tynemouth (Slatey or the Bathing Pool skier) depending which way the swells are running could be worth a chuck.

Tides arnt the best though, high waters 1 wednesday morning so you wont be able to fish low water during darkness.

BBC weather is a waste of time, my gammy knee is a better indicator of what is likely to happen.

This site is much better: South Shields Surf Report, Surf Forecast and Surf Webcams and has 9 foot swells for Tuesday

I'd still rather spend my time fishing for those spotties than nowt else in this weather and sea state.

When the frosts come and its freezing cold, that'll be the time for me to change me rigs over with bigger hooks and blast those big yellowtail and crab bait out off the pier or into the kelp for the big one (am dam sure its my turn to get a goodun' this winter!)

Ooh am itching for winter to come now...

Anyone seen the sea today and know if the predicted swells were correct, looked on a few webcams, like Tynemouth and the mouth of the tyne but can't really tell if the seas are decent.
