We tried few different places. One being Statland which was about 30 kilometres from digs. Looking at charts we knew of a mark which was 70 ft deep from the shore. Sounded great but it was just about unfishable due to tide pull. We moved around the corner to a new house development and fished from there. Water here about 40-50 ft deep. We did really well. I lost a real big one when it got snagged up. Found out later that the village had been victim of a Tsunami few years ago. Looks like all the debri had gone straight into Fjord when clearing up had taken place.
Was nice to try few different spots.

My mate Ian (Chief Wigum) was on fire first night. He was pulling them in left right and centre. Had the biggest Cod I seen caught. Also on two hook flapper had 8lber and 4 lber. Easy to get in as well cos we beached them from the jetty we were on.

I agree to some extent, that mark was too deep I think. I prefer looking for somewhere where the fish are likely to be feeding, a bit shallower, a bit of tide and maybe a muddy bottom for them to feed on.

One of the deep marks did give us a couple of shore caught ling and a torsk though that we probably would never have caught.

Still i think every mark in Norway is deeper than the ones we fish in the North east.

230 ft. I thought it was 70 lol. That's why the line was down the side. Only place I fished like that over here is at Gourock Scotland near submarine base when I was a young un.

Saltstraumen appeals to me as it is only two flights. Edinburgh to Oslo then next flight to Bodo.
