      There is Roker Pier, the Rat House, Glass Centre & loads of other good marks on the Wear, right up to South Hylton

            Try fishing it when the tide is flooding and using size 4 hooks (not 4/0) with a log flowing trace as this will massively improve your chance of catching a fish. Knowing a mark is only part of it but fishing it the right way will be more beneficial. Peeler crab is probably the best bait this time of year but unfortunately the most expensive. You could use rag worm tipped off with a small piece of mackerel no bigger than your finger nail which should also work this time of year. Good luck mate and let us know how you get on
