I was fishing at Seaton Sluice last night. Just starting to venture more off the piers and do more beach fishing. Had 2 rods, a penn viper and a cheap shakespeare. Every time I cast I found the shakespeare line whipping right round onto the beach and the penn usually holding it\'s place but also occasionally coming round to the beach. Is there a reason why the cheap rod shouldn\'t hold as well as the penn? I can understand casting performance differences and bite indication but once it\'s in the water why should one keep it\'s place so much better than the other? Also, this was a 5.2 metre tide which is big for here and the sea was running but on the atlantic coast it seems that 14 metre tides are normal. How do you cope with those?
