I think rods will go continental, 14ft will be a short rod and many rods will be 16.5 ft or longer.

These rods are not just clean beach rods, Daiwa France have a Tournament X rod that is over 22ft long and designed specifically for fishing off rocks and casting up to 21 oz of weight and bait!

The UK rod makers are starting to get in on the market with Century, Greys and Shakespeare out with continental rods in the racks, and I don\'t think it will be long before other manufactures bring their continental style rods to the market.
