  • Coasters Question

    Hi all

Had to remove my reel seat as it didn't accomodate the different sized multipliers I use (Too big for my 6500and was sitting on the cage bars).

So I bought some coasters and I cant stop the reels moving on the rod in heavy ground.
At first my shrink tubing was stretching allowing the reel to twist so I have cut that away and put the reel straight on to the blank and it feels like I will have the same problem as I can still twist the reel slightly.

I am using the temp adjustable brakeaway type coasters at the moment as the metal ones I bought are too tight!

Is it just because I am using these temp coasters or does anyone put anything between the reel seat and blank to increase the grip?

    Thanks in advance.

reelseat good quality fuji is still the best mate especially in the heavy ground as for the smaller reels you could put some electricans tape round the feet of the reel which should just build it up enough to sit in the reelseat you might have to renew the tape now and again but it is a small price to pay buy cheap pay twice fuji,s are the best by far, hope this helps.
