    I don't know where you guys stand on this, tbh im not completley sure it will solve anything. It gives the boats the ability to keep undersize fish. As they are not allowed to discard bycatch, + undersize fish. Tell me what you guys think. Its something i think is very relevant to the future of our fish stocks.

    Watch the video also, i do see a point to it. But the video is depressing.

    The means of not disgarding means they will only target larger fish, or haul enough for demand sooner and no need to over fish and throw dead fish back.

    Targeting better speciemens with long lines or larged meshed nets means more juvenile fish "should" survive and reach maturity and so breed...

    impacts can only be predicted and speculated but can only be a good thing in my opinion... 10-15year should really show how things go

      in my opinion its the local boats with their nets a couple of hundred yds offshore which has the greatest impact on local rod anglers .

        very true... the "black market" catches from any old bloke in a boat and a mile of gill nets that far offshore!
