I had the same problem with my kompressor ss, been lucky freed it with help of mates by twisting it apart, I rub a pencil on the male joint seems to work for me.

If i may comment greys rods are mostly a tapered blank so mainly spigot joints and only become tight when most of spigot is all the way in therefore candle wax is good and it helps protect the carbon from wearing and is sticky and holds the two parts of the rod together as if a spigot seal was to break in cast the tip would be away in the drink !.
Century are mostly a parallel butt design and use ferrule joints which make contact as soon as you put the two parts together they are machined to fit therefore PTFE spray lubricates the joint allows it to move without causing much friction doesnt wear the carbon so the joint wont become slack. only apply candle wax if the furrule joint was to go slack.

Hallelujah, eventually got it parted tonight after 4 days trying using the various techniques suggested. Me and m8 peeagee, one twisting one way and the other the other way and eventually the joint broke.
