Remember Tyne comps?

Hope someone can back me up here.Can any one remember a competition that used to be held i think on Boxing day on the tyne.I think the weigh in used to be at Friars goose watersports club.This was probably at least 15yrs ago.The boundaries were up river of hebburn marina to the tyne bridge i think.Hope someone remembers as one of the lads at work reckons their was no such comp,any answers will be great..thanks.

yes jordy friars goose used to hold a boxing day comp but i cant remember the boundrays or how long it ran for either or wether it was just a 1 off comp ,,,ps your showing your age me 2 for that matter :P
