  • Suggestions for new reel?

Ive just bought a Greys Triad, very happy with it so far. Took it for a short 2 hour session to my local beach to try it out. Blanked, but didnt expect much, was mainly just getting the feel of the rod. Anyway i got half way through the session and realised id broke my fixed spool reel somehow. Typical id just loaded it up with new line. And bought a new rod then my reel breaks. Anyway at least it an excuse to get a new reel. I was thinking of getting a multiplier since the Triad is for rung for them (i think)

Just asking for any suggestions/reccomendations. Baring in mind ive never really used a multi before apart from messing around with my friends as i was younger. All i can remember is birds nests and not being able to cast very far with it, ever since ive stuck to fixed spools.

So im looking for a cheapish multiplier to accompany my Triad, id prefer one with a level wind as im not confident using it without one. One that will maybe help me cast abit further than i can with my fixed spool. Also i would like it to suit both rocky marks and clean beaches.

    Any help/input would be appreciated

you could try one of the abu's with the level winds or a slosh 20 or 30 as you can pick these up pretty cheap on here second hand and are a good reliable reel

Its really easy to lay the line on a multiplier without a level wind mate, with a little practice you'll realise how easy it is and your distance will come with practice too,
I've neva used a slosh but heard good comments. All my reels have a mag on av even converted my other multipliers to mags as they are much easier to control.
The penn 525 mag is a good all rounder I use mine for beach and rocks, you can pick up some good second hand ones too.
Where you from as I'm out practicing casting from time to time if you eva want to join me.
