they were the dogs doo dars about 25 years ago, almost indestructable. yes they have been surpassed with new materials making rods these days much lighter and capeable of greater distance but the dc6 is still a superb rough ground rod that will take a hell of a lot of abuse and at £30 even today is a good buy, at that price you can clatter it about without worry.

duralumin butt section and a nice long tip section, bought mine from temples of whitley bay and lifted 6lber with it on the barrier at roker 10 year ago, ive since sold the rod but it was good at the time, the DC8 is its big brother.

Thanks lads some very good info , just what i was after the rod is pretty old like and has a few scuffs but what do you expect of a rod that age
The rings are all original fuji and butt sections is sort of wrapped in plastic tubing and the rod has a nice light(ish) feel to it

Im not complaiming for £30 saves me havin to go out and spend silly money
Lets see how it does over this winter

I bought one second hand a long long time ago it was a great all rounder, my mate bought it off me and he still has it to this day.
Very good rod in its day.

Got mine from Temples as well. Good old rods but much thicker in the butt than modern rods and a lot heavier. Still do a good job for you though, especially at that price.

i bought the new model just over 10 years ago and find it a cracking rod, it will lift a 4-6lb fish with no problems, imho you have got a bargain for that price. the only problem i find with them is the length of the tip section which at 8ft 6 is quite long.

david when i bought my rod it came with two tips a floppy soft one and the stiffer one.Use my in tandem with a semi carbon conoflex which is also a canny age but half the weight of the dc6

the overall length is 12' - 12'6", i had 2 butts with mine, 1 butt was 4' long whilst the other was 4'6", it was a weird set up but a lovely casting rod. i wish now that i had bought the dc8 along with it.

Dont get me wrong its a nice rod bit scuffed like but its old so i dont mind
Also this rod isnt heavy the butt section has no ally on it and the tip section is a think the stiffer of the 2 that rossi has mentioned
