  • Got my new rod and reel today :)

Just got my new rod and reel home, although the reel is second hand the rod is brand new.

I got the Sonik SK3 13ft and a Penn Surfmaster 70 reel, more than happy with the service I got at ID Fishing, reel was £35 and rod was £120.

Anyone got any experiences with this rod and reel combo ?

Not had a chance to get out with them yet but I think its a nice match, the rod feels nice and comfortable and well made and the reel is silky smooth and nice and quick, just how I like my fixed spools. hehe

The reel is going for £60 on the bay buy it now so I think I got a bargain.

Yeah I agree about the handle being a little bit small but I think if I couldn't live with it (doubt that very much to be honest) I could probably fit a different handle on it.

Looking forward to trying it out

I was not aware of this Factory Shop and to be honest 14ft is way to big for me, 13ft is about my limit.

Do you have a link to this shop for future reference ?

I went there to register the rod today, checked the sk4 range and the cheapest was £209.99, am I missing something ? hehe

The only SK rod I see listed on there for £99 is the 12' 6" one.

Perhaps there is a special offers bit I cant see ?
