  • Neoprene chest waders?

    Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a pair of neoprene chest waders soon. Any recomendations or thoughts would be greatly recieved. Not really sure what one's to get. Being a quite a big purchase I want to get it right. So far have seen both the Daiwa ones and Soniks but still not sure.

    Cheers.

the daiwa ones are nice and roomy but heard that the boots are prone to splitting, cant comment on the sonic ones, a lot of guys use snowbee granites but i would try each one if you can and go with what is comfy for you cos you dont want to be uncomfortable when fishing.

Don,t buy the Diawa-cheap and leak. I bought a new pair and they only lasted a couple of trips when i was fly fishing-sent them back and got replacement pair-which also leaked-ended up in the bin.
I believe you only get what you pay for and i would defo go for the Sonics which are about 120 or the Greys at about 100. Get studded soles for any sea fishing.
You will find much cheaper brands but a good make has a good guarantee and are made to last.
At this moment in time i have some second hand Snowbees (not Granites). Had a leak in crotch area but hole now plugged.
      Perfect in cold water.

          hello m8
i wouldnt buy either, i would get a pair of oceans which are now called vas waders they cant be beaten even though they are rubber ones, good studs and heavy duty boots.
          my opinion anyway.
          have you got a cloth

Try phoning Chris Vass on 01908 563804 or e-mail him at mail@vass-uk.com
He can give you some prices and details. Ask him if he has some of the old stock of Ocean waders left. He was selling them off at less than half price at the Angling Show.

but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

I have Neoprene Greys, Cant fault them, thick, studs stopped me from going a**e over t** many a time, and you get what you pay for, well worth the investment.

If your sea fishing around rocky marks i would advise studded waders, because unstudded ones on rocks well you might aswell be on an icerink.

I use Shakespeare Neoprene chest waders. Paid £60 brand new. Other places have them, but obviously they all have there prices.

I've had it for 2 years and use mine mainly for crabbing, they've had a hell of alot of wear 'n' tear, and still they stay strong. No leaks, No tears, No nonsence, and the boots havnt come away or nowt.

Cant say theres many in that price range that have that type of quality. As a said I only bought mine for bashing about when am crabbing, but they've lasted really well and will do for my Sea fly fishing this summer.

Hope this helps ya find the right pair for you bud!
