Have a look at the catch report section mate, port carlisle sounds good.

Fished silloth a canny few years ago with good worms I'd dug as the tide was going out and chucked when coming in, did it all week and I caught f*ck all.

    Hope this helps mate.

You should get plenty action from the flounders at either venue port Carlisle or silloth. If you fish silloth crab is essential fish either tommy legs or skinburness, if you fish port Carlisle fresh crab is the no1 bait now but you will still get fish on other baits as well, fishing is good all the way before you get into port Carlisle. Best tide times at either venue is 2 hours either side of high water. Be careful of the rising tide it comes in VERY fast especially on the bigger tides, the speed has to be seen to be believed. Use lightish gear it's much more fun, 3oz grips are just about right in my opinion.

Just head to burgh by sands then port Carlisle that will put you on the coast road the fishing is good all along here, the road comes near the water in several places, I have been fishing about a mile before port Carlisle, there a pull in on a sharp bend and I fish right in front of it. But anywhere along here will fish. Giving it another go tomorrow I'll put a catch report up when I get back.

              Port Carlise

              Fished there a lot

              54.949345,-3.18574

This are map ordinates for google maps just put them in (you may have to zoom out a bit) and you will see the marks.

First ordinates have by far fished the best using mackeral and rag worm, crab if you can get any. Short casts as the bank is undercut there and there is a deep channel at HW.

Second ordinates have fished either great or blanked

Third ordinates are for the port itself. Park in the bowling club car park and walk down the the harbour. You can fish towards the END of the stone pier opposite where there is a channel or very short (20 yds) looking up the Solway paralell to the cottage on your right.

              Watch out for the tides.

              Good Luck
