Hello lads, long time since my first post but not because I havent been fishing just because I havent caught a thing in my last 4 trips! That all changed on tuesday night at the walkway!
We went fishing from 19:30pm, beautiful night and lovely slack tide. Alan started the night with a small codling on his first cast then went and caught another codling using the same worm he caught his first fish on! He ended up getting 3 fish off his first 3 casts, quite an achievement! He went on to get 6 fish in total, 4 codling and 2 Coalie, all decent enough size but went back in the river alive apart from one which a seagul scored for!
I got in on the action soon afterwards with a small codling and then everyone started to gets knocks at a regular occurrence, I ended up getting another 4 codling that night, one a decent size which gave a great bite and put up a good fight when a was reeling it in, I kept that one and ate it the next day, delicious! Then the last fish I caught was a good size coalie, which went back in alive.
Gary and Mark who were fishing inbetween myself and Alan didnt fair so well but Gary caught a great flatty, 2 small codling and a small coalie as the night went on, Mark caught 2 small codling and a small coaile, both Gary and Mark lost gear but thats to be expected when you fish the walkway!
We fished until 12:30, no other fella's were out fishing which was suprising but was a great night indeed! I got 6 fish in total, Alan got 6, Gary got 4 and Mark got 3. We caught all our fish on rag worm except for my biggest codling which was on peelar crab. The fish were biting consistantly utill about 22:30when the dredger went past then things went quiet but them first 3 hours were great!
Hope everyone has been enjoying the Royal Wedding today! All the best Kate and Wills!
