  • What line is best

Hello lads i could do with some advice i need to put new line on my reel and just wondering what other anglers like to use. At the mo am using Daiwa tournament (yellow one) but for some reason i don't like it. Am wanting to load it with 18lb with a low diameter and a good knot strength. cheers lads the advice would be great

I use Ultima F1 black 18lb and 20lb. Both are alot thinner than lines of the same weight and have great sensitivity and knot strength.

Ultima mate, either F1 or Power Plus, both the same dia. and usually same price. Personally I like F1 the best though. Just my opinion like.

Try sakuma,i like the yellow(nite crystal) although its also available in clear. 18lb is 0.35mm,15lb is 0.32mm.Used quite a lot of ultima power plus its a good line.Your choice at the end of the day mate.

suffix tritanium, its got to be the best line out at the minute. The 15lb stuff is 0.35 and has a breaking strain of 18 or 19lb. Used to use ultima f1 in 18lb but didnt find it anywhere near as strong as the suffix 15lb. now i am converted to suffix think i'm going to stay with it for a while. also used to use the daiwa tournament before the ultima stuff but got put off by the price, its still a quality line though.

stick with diawa tourniment it casts good and very strong and the abrasion resistance is good ,Second to that suffix as adam says takes alot of beating in 15lbs .F1 is also a good line for clean beach fishing but is not very abrasion resistance ,i still use f1 but in 35lbs in the heavy ground and cannot fault it
cant catch sitting in the hoose

my favoured line is rough diamond, its similar to f1 but not as "brittle" and alot stronger in my opinion and more abraisive resistant. Again little hard to get hold of but its nice and cheap too, £5 for a 4oz spool.

I use it in 15lb for the summer stuff, i do prefer the 20lb as its still thin enough but i have a mile spool of that suffix tritanium as people have mentioned... its very very good, but little thick, and i prefer the rough diamond.
