    fished fifty yards after first gate rag n macky 2 plaice 1lb 8oz 1lb 4oz my mate dunny had a plaice just under a 1lb 2 lads fishing 20 yards to the right of us had 2 flounders nowt else caught put a piccy up later chucking in to harbour

      Well done on the spotties, hopefully the signs are there for an excellent summer fishing for them.

      What was the fog like at Shields? Took the missus and bairn to Seaburn arcades and the sea fret was thick and freezing which was a shock after leaving Durham in warm bright sunshine.

        just like you said malcolm cold and thick fog we cud hear the tankers in the harbour but cud not see them just fog horns sounding

            Just seen ya pics, some nice fish there bud, far better than the angling action a had yesterday...

            Just looking at the pictures, the fish on left is definately a plaice, but the other fish on the right is definately a flounder. It's much more mottled in colour and diamond shape, where plaice tend to be very round.

            Never the less, some nice fish there, well done.

                      I would Agree, flounder often have orange spots at this time of year, just to through us off i think lol.

                      Nice catch though, sounds like a canny sesh.
