Having never fished a competition before I\'m a bit in the dark about the rules. Do you get rules when you buy the ticket? Where in Newbiggin is the cut off? Is it just one rod? What sort of rigs are allowed? Do you have to go and sign in before you start fishing or do you just fish and turn up for the weigh in? And what happens to all the fish if you\'ve caught 93 whiting? Sorry about all these questions but am still a novice.

Normally you get a leaflet with the boundaries and rules on, don\'t know if the lads / lasses will have the chance to produce such a thing. Usually in a comp it\'s no more than 2 hooks on a rig, no beads or attractors. You can have 2 rods but only one rig in the water at any one time. (I think) You must register before the competion. Unfortunately fish must be taken to the weigh in and as most weigh ins are not conducted underwater that means the fish will perish. You can only weigh in fish of legal or above size, some comps demand fish are over and above NFSA guidlines. Normally determined by length, so take a tape measure or something. The main difference between fishing a comp and having a pleasure sesh is that you spend lot\'s more on \"quality\" bait, have no time to relax, catch even less than you normally would and have to watch other people walk away with all the clobber while you whinge with your mates and clap politley. Nightmare don\'t bother

        Hi All
When you buy a ticket you will get a leaflet with all the rules, times, minimum size limits and weigh in times.
Unlike a normal open the money from this one will ALL go to help people who need it badly,in this case those affected by the disaster in Aisa. Also unlike a normal open we have prizes like rods, reels and tackle to give to people who come up to 150th place, a £ 150.00 rod to be won just for turning up and a raffle with prizes worth thousands.
        I thinck people should bother!!!

                        Hi All
We now have alot of on-line tackle shops helping out!!. Mikes Takle, North East Tackle, Gerys of Morcombe These prizes are not on the flyers as they have just come in; there is still more to come! So do not fear, if you are a realy crap fisherman you can still be in with a reel or rod worth £100.00 or more!! I wish I could fish iT!!
