...alreet all the lsd kicked in and i decided out of boredom to hook up a fixed spool reel the biggest i had to my tip tornado . placed it as fas a i could down the rod as the rod didnt have large coil breakers and headed out to the field to practice pendulum cast . 18lb mono and 60lb shockie clipped on a 5oz sinker and tried to practice 'pendulum casting' for ****s and giggles . first cast went awry when the timing release was wrong and th lead shot off still straight about 80 yds but alas my knuckles were literally line whipped with flippin cuts and marks of the line flying off ....nevrmind that a quick lick of the paw and i decided hmmm..if i move the reel up at little bit 'just like danny on youtube ' i should be ok and it will save my left hand...so okk round two ....reel up cast and yowza the line and sinker flw off straigth but not without leaving its mark on my other knuckle ....typing on this forum hurts a wee bit now ...i think i leave the fixed spool for my 3 pc rod and will just use the 525 for the tippy. does anyone know th local casting instructors and how much it cost for a session with them ?
