I recently decided to give up fishing and sell my fishing gear, so i thought i would advertise it on the board, and to maximise my chances of selling, i also advertised on Andy\'s site.
All of the tackle, i had for sale went very very quickly and i would like to thank all of the lads for all the prompt sales. but i can\'t see what andy\'s problem is, don\'t know if you lads have read the thread on the trading post (fishing tackle for sale) here is what he said:
\"Do me a favour Roy & tell people if your advertising in more than one place. Also, if lads have got your number they\'ve got an unfair advantage over legitimate replies to your threads which really p****d me off! (If you make rules then stick to them)
I\'ve deleted yours & Rhys\'s accounts so keep your sales in here & leave us alone, thanks\"
the only explanation i can think of is, when i put the first lot of gear up for sale, someone actually PMd me and asked to buy the fishing rods, so i gave him my phone number for him to ring me and let me know, when and where he wanted to collect the rods. the reason i gave him my phone number and i shouldnt have to give a reason, is because i am not always at my computer to receive and reply to peoples messages or queries. and i know it is crap for people waiting for replies. so, when i put the second lot of fishing gear up for sale the lad who bought the rods phoned straight away and asked if they had gone, if not he wanted them. so i sold them to him, and deleted them from the board? or put sold next to that item. anyway, Andy asked could he have two of the items i replied and said one of the items had been sold, but he could have the other one. i explained to him that no sooner had i put the items on the board that the lad who bought the rods phoned me and purchased one of the items he wanted. and why should i have to tell people how many places i am advertising my goods for sale. is there a law against this? i dont think so. do you think this is a good enough reason to kick me off the site? and also he has deleted my mate cooky\'s account, why? it\'s got nothing to do with him. and andy said, because someone has my phone number they have an unfair advantage over everybody else, and as i have said above, the lad already had my phone number from a previous purchase, and got there before him, he phoned me well before andy had sent the message. Because, in my books first come first served. so, i think to be fair, the treatment me and cooky have received is out of order. cheers lads happy new year roy
