  • Lure Fishing Challenge 2011

    The Challenge
    Catch as many DIFFERENT types of sea fish on artificial lures as possible.

    Start/End Date
    27th March - 30th October (British summer time)

    The Boundaries
    The UK and Ireland by any means of access (shore, boat, kayak)

    To enter simply post a picture, on this thread, of your first catch (try to include the lure) and every catch after that. You can fish as little or as often as you wish, and you can join at any point between the start and end date.

    You can use any type of lure you wish, including but not restricted to;

    Plugs and Poppers
    Spinners
    Shads & Jellies
    Feathers and Daylights
    Artificial Flies

    A good post and quite a challege,especially on this coast. I will certainly have a bash but over on the Mull of Galloway.

    My expected fish on lures may be

    Mackerel
    Pollack
    Coalfish
    Cod
    Whiting
    Gurnard
    Bass
    Launce
    Herring - possible

    Always take pics so thats not a problem

    Plan to experiment with "micro" lures for wrasse this summer so lets see what happens - if anything !!!

        Caught this little bugga on sat whe gettin a bit practice in on the lures!! haha!!

              nar nowt else lads, just wanted to get out, conditions lookin good the day had the dog oot around a few marks and the waters nice and clear
              hopfully stay that way for the weekend so a can hammer the lures and hopfully pick up atleast 1 species

                just came back from the place that sells pretty fishing stuff...armed with a nordic stavenger , some feathers and muppets i wait upon the 27th of march to start thy challenge .....mission 1 to avoid seaweed....mission two catch fish.....yeah!!!
