Probably a stupid question, and having only ever fished from south shields side.

Is there any better fishing on tynemouth pier? is the end or middle better? river side or sea side?

Or would I need to join a club to get the info?

    thanks.

south shields tends to fish better you get bigger coalys and more whiting ,saying that we seem to get a lot off double figure fish quite a few in to the twentys .fishing the pier everyone has there favourite mark the lighthouse round end being the most popular ,as you come on to the pier on the lower level the four posts throw out flounders and plaice good codling when rough ,further on at the small railing is the rough ground mainley good codling but a grave yard due to the lobster pots ,going futher on the middle railings towards the round end is clean ground where the club matchs are fished ,any thing can come from this strech over twenty species much the same as ss pier going on to the top level the first third from the round end down fishing seawards mainly codling but some nice pollock close to double figures the past fewyears bearing in mind the top level is a no fishing area and is only reached by climing the gate after dark at your own risk c.c.c.tv cameras operate/i think ss pier has astronger tide race hence more coalys. i hope this helps davy
