Had a day out to alnmouth on sunday as I've dug there before and had 4-5 worms evry turn of the fork but not this time , we spent 3 hours digging and only got 5 worms

Got chatting to a guy digging at Cresswell (there wasnt many worms there) and he recommended that I try Hauxley. I havent as yet, but thats where I was told. Just thought I'd share

You can certainly get some canny lug from the top end of Whitley beach, just down from the boat station, but digging can be hard work as the ground tends to be quite stony. I've often had better results getting in amongst the rocks and scratching for them, but it seems to be a dying art these days, haven't seen anyone else scratching whenever I've been down there (which I'll admit isn't too often these days).

unless you are going down on the night time tide mate i would give it a miss as the tide is not big enough for the bottum of the boat station it is all stones you can go to the left and sometimes get a few blows or scratch under the rocks for the rag just follow the traces personally i would,nt bother and go up the coast if you have transport

Dug them at whitley on a very big tide before at the lighthouse end of the beach, not massive, but there was plenty.
